Welcome to a double edition of the blog!

The last two weeks have been filled with fun and learning.

Following Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we studied his life, and the importance of his work as a civil rights leader.

We have also started a unit studying whales and ocean life, and we have had a whale of a good time!

We took to the halls and measured out 100 feet, so we could see the size of a blue whale!

In Healthy Snack Group, we made and decorated some delightful doughnuts!

The following Healthy Snack Group, we made perfect potato chips:

We always love a visit from Buddy Dog, the best therapy dog ever!

Music Class has been zesty with xylophones!

We also played a round or two of Musical Balloons!

The school greatly enjoyed a karate presentation, starring Chaya and her Sensei!

We hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend, which includes Monday as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

We have been focusing on the first two astronauts to set foot on the moon:  Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, who did the first "moonwalk" during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969.  We learned about their lives leading up to the famous moon mission, including their time as children, and their time serving in the military.

In Physical Education, we played seated volleyball and also had free time, when we got a chance to shoot baskets, and practice our dance moves by the stereo!

In Healthy Snack Group, we made our own Pigs in a Blanket!

In Music Class, we made beautiful music together!  Each student got a xylophone to practice with!

Also, Happy Year of the Dragon!

And...

Happy Birthday Mrs. O.!
